Landscape painter, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation.
He studied at Homel gymnasium, at M. Vrubel Studio in Homel and at the studio of Robert Falk at Moscow All-Russian Higher Arts and Technical Studios (Vkhutemas). At the start of creative activities he was a member of the Society of Painters. The artist was awarded the Stalin Prize (1951), became a member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1958).
G. Nissky is a classic of industrial and battle landscape, who followed his individual recognizable style–generalized, laconic, monumental, almost severe, but decorative, esthetising contemporary technical structures.
